Competence
was founded by Dr. Uwe Stöbener who worked from 2001 till 2008 as Managing Director and Technical Head at our partner company Halcyonics.
Dr. Stöbener studied Mechanical Engineering from 1988 to 1992 at the Helmut-Schmidt-University in Hamburg, delve into Technical Mechanics and focusing on numerical methods, e.g. Finite Elements. After collaboration with Prof. Peter Haupt at the University of Kassel he joined the Institute A of Mechanics at the University of Stuttgart in 1996. Adviced by the Director of the Institute Prof. Lothar Gaul he became familiar with experimental techniques, like Modal Analysis, and he worked for different scientific projects in the field of Active Vibration Control.
In September 2001 he received his doctor's degree. His PhD thesis "Untersuchungen zur Schwingungs- und Schallabstrahlungsregelung flächenhafter Strukturen" was awarded by the the Dr. Meyer-Struckmann Wissenschaftspreis in 2002.
During his work at Halcyonics he developed Active Isolation systems for sensitive instruments and he became an expert for measuring and analyzing building vibration.
